fresh content for miracle business start ups!!

hello readers,
today's topic finds us with a lightspeed start up for small business that can be accomplised in a few hours. It sounds like a miracle but Jeff Haden from Inc. (owners manual) gives a glimpse of the fastest start up advisement you will ever hear. Here at succinct news we share the love and see little seeds of "business" being sown across the  USA!  You can read about Jeff on Inc website and we will be spending sometime with new blogs on that website since it is overflowing with great articles for business entreprenuers and those considering starting small business. Jeff is a ghostwriter for some of the most successful leaders in business. You will find his articles to be worth their "weight" in gold.
Here's his spin on "how to start a small business in a few hours"..really..i know it  can be done because i've done this. You can get  through these administrative hurdles and forward to the success page with these timely tips and relevant strategies. Let's clarify a few points though before we begin. Frist before you adopt these quick fixes you will need to know that the time-consuming and lengthy study to start your business involves writing a business plan, source financing, and developing a marketing plan. These projects are the ones that will require some serious discipline and of course your passion for your "chosen" business. Just as an atty. would build a case and argument to present to a judge, so  too , you will, as a small businessman ,argue a case for your business and sell your ideas.   you must give a comprehensive argument that must convince many in the process of starting up your business. You  must gather and collect data and evidence that your financial source will review and either  approve or deny for funding. This writer has also been on this path for a number of years in a very shaky market! I will say that personally, this writer has met and interviewed with some bank loan officers, some small business administration officers and a network of many others who are in the business of lending to small business. In fact, since 2007, it's been a bumpy road for this writer to gain any real traction on the "lending scene" but i have not exhausted hope or desire and i have taken my "pledge" to start up this fall. come hell or high water. you really have to be a passionate warrior to fight for your "right" to work and enter into the marketplace of ideas and business. A can do attitude along with a coat of armor is needed and you will not be defeated. I invite many of you to consider a "small business" opportunity, whether a home business, an online business or a hobby or craft that you enjoy , these entreprenuer interests  could easily translate to some needed "income source" for you. There is a plethera of opportunities you can create for yourself when the government has failed in a sense to keep middle america going. jobs are not being created by our govt. .and corporates are shutting down or laying off in record numbers. What my family and my family history has always been rooted in has been the "resourcefulness" of independent farmers and family who take income seriously and have no shame to "produce" a stream of revenue in an ethical and relevant way. I must admit, it was easy going to corporate career employments without really having to focus on my own business, but when you consider working 9-5 never will get you rich but only keep you dependent, owning your own business would be the way to acheive unlimited status. I did know many women in business, mostly daycares and of course Avon and those home businesses that thrived in the 70's and 80's with the home party concept of tupperware and others. the tupperware always blew me away.. I mean how many ways can you make "plastic" gizmo's glamorous.?? !  Women have come along way since and i've been personally elated to see the salaries of women are now keeping pace with men in their fields. Women are in every industry under the sun and this evolution of small business women is exciting and unlimited. ! A toast to the female workforce ! and let's get this party started.
I will list those helpful guidelines that Jeff Haden has so smartly named in his "starting a small business in a few hours" article. This information may serve as  your "launch" into the next phase of starting your business. Be prepared to create and think outside the box!! it's a great adventure to be shared with family and friends. !
1) begin with naming your company but don't agonize over coming up with the perfect company name. I would add that the name should be a personal point of meaning and inspiration while maintaining an identity with the industry of products or services you are representing. you may even want to get together with other small businesses who are managing similiar businesses and yes..even competitors. It can be a "fun" process because we all know the power of "advertising" and a name that "sticks" in someone's memory, is a business that sells itself. In other words, a creative name that focuses on a memorable theme or emotional feeling may attract more business . Everything is psychology today so you want to reach as many prospective clients as possible even with your "identification" and your "company name'.. For example giving your business a negative name could destroy a business overnite.. like "stomach ache restaurant".. or "heart attack grill".. yet some do well even with these self-destruct names today.
2)get your employee Id number (EIN) . An EIN is a federal tax number used to Id your business. You don't need an EIN  unless you will have employees, plan to form a partnership LLC or corp.
Even if you don't need EIN get one anyway. Its free and takes minutes. You can keep your social security number private thereby minimizing identity theft. If you don't have an EIN your SSN identitifes your business for tax purposes. The IRS website will insure the EIN in minutes.
3)Register your trade name. Operate under your own name or register under a trade name  and be approved on the spot.!
4)Get your business license . A business license is required and there is a form to fill out. Use your EIN instead of your SS number to identify your business (for privacy if nothing else) . This may prevent identity fraud too. You may be asked to estimate annual gross receipts . Do your best to estimate accurately. Don't agonize over it.
5)Complete the business personal property tax form (if necessary). Businesses are taxed on personal property. In some states there is no form required for the years your business has been established. If you are required to file a business personal property form and you plan to work from home using computers, tools, etc. that you already own you wont need to list those items. If you purchase tangible personal property during your first year in business you list those items when you file your business personal property tax form the following year.
6)Ask Locality about Permits. Some require "home occupation permits" to verify a business based home meets zoning requirements.
7)Get a certificate of resale known as a sellers permit. This allows you to collect state sales tax on products but not on services sold.
8)Get a business bank account. Using a business account for all business transactions , eliminating the risks of running afoul with the IRS. Get a business account using your business name and EIN and use that account for all business related deposits, withdrawals and transactions. Pick a bank ro credit union if you can. Local credit unions often provide better deals than banks. Having all your business records in one place is very convenient and limits errors in bookkeeping.
9)Set up a simple accounting spreadsheet with revenue and expenses columns. Add line items as you go. Accounting software , such as quicken books and others are great tools but for advanced accounting . You can always create a formal system later that will be easie when you have all the real data to enter into your sophisticated software.  Now take a deep breath because once you have gone throough these 8 hoops.. you only need to add the special sauce which is your time invested in researching your unique business, writing your plan, finding the right financial lending and once approved it's your own signature statement of "personality and unlimited opportunity". Setting realistic budget goals are needed and why it is so important to get reliable data on market studies and how your business will measure up to other competitors. The more unique ideas you can bring that will separate your business from the rest, the more success you will have. The more you can give your client in practical benefits the better start you will have and of course the policies you make that show the customer that they are "first" , will cement your business success!! Every small business in america is joined together as the engine of our "entreprenuers" and free enterprise system. Your business will have a lasting effect on the many you serve in the community and will always succeed if you are a principled leader and owner. The small businessman joins into a history that is "all american" and most valued in our country.! We celebrate the success of every business..large or small , here on succinct news and remember to do your "homework". the percentages of businesses that fail in hard times is about 80% within the first year. It's important to start with knowledge and a strong foundation of understanding of your products and services and how they can answer a need and provide a solution for your clients. the supply and demand principle still rules and with many competitors it is necessary to be creative and original. Not everyone passes the high energy tests for owning a business. It requires passion, sacrifice and a special connection with people ! If you get it right , the rewards cannot be equalled and the independence is the shining jewel of unlimited finance.
There's nothing that compares to the gratification of being owner and seeing your clients light up for your concepts, products or services. It is a great american adventure. Only the strong survive..so let's get started!
