Many states have programs that can help you with green education and with incentives and rebates for certain purchases. Ct. has a clean energy fund that has ongoing programs for building green homes and other green "services". There is usually a program in every state. You will just have to do a little research and study to find what best fits your needs.

5) flooring and carpet., there are many choices on the market now that are green. wherever possible you can use reclaimed wood flooring that has been recycled., It saves trees and it puts really good product back to use such as oak, maple , chestnut and other hard woods that have been carefully restored. Carpets that are made of natural fibers and not chemically produced, such as cotton, silk and wool still top my list for being natural, green and healthy as long as there is no allergy to these natural products.
6)Kid's health, always keep electronics far from the heart and head of your children to reduce electromagnetic rays. I would keep computer equipment or gaming equipment in another room besides a child's bedroom to keep a safe area for sleeping.
