securing our borders, a priority for a strong america

We must take charge and enforce the immigration laws. This topic is a hot one and the next president will be sure to "tango" with this on-going issue. It seems apparent to me that on 911 , america had let down its guard and was unprepared in a world that is growing with hostilities and conflict of ideology. Americans will never be caught "off guard" again. Citizenship is a process and those that are legitimate and made application the tried and true way are to be commended. We simple cannot allow illegals and especially from "terrorist" nations to fill our ranks here in america. We must stop this problem in its "tracks". Our nation is suffering record unemployment while our borders are flooded with more immigrants than our system can process!!  We are a country of mixed ethicnity and we welcome those who have legally applied for citizenship..but there is a line we must draw. Citizenship is a priviledge and only those who have played by the rules should be "welcome" to our country. If legal due process is not enforced there is no "meaning" to our constitutional law or american history. Our country is the best in the world but it can only remain strong with enforcement of our laws including the process of "citizenship". I propose that those who want to become american citizens, file the paperwork  and wait until it is legally processed before coming to america. It is important that employment and means of support is established before coming to our country to have "children" or "use" our generous welfare system. Perhaps we should have an "iq" test to filter out drug smugglers or criminals who are in america to do harm . The immigration policies definitely need to be "updated" and "reformed" .American simply must reduce the risks that are escalating on the borders of our nation.  we encourage your feedback about this topic and your feelings of how immigration should be managed. The Border Patrol apprehended 315 aliens trying to enter the United States illegally from nations that “promote, produce, or protect terrorists” in fiscal 2011.
You can see for yourself that terrorism is still a huge threat in our country and there only needs to be a few in a terror cell to do the damage that was done on 911. We must take action to protect "americans who have citizenship" over those who are coming to our country "illegally".
