5 steps to brainstorming a brilliant business idea

http://blog.score.org/2012/rieva-lesonsky/how-to-come-up-with-a-great-business-startup-idea/
hello readers and welcome to our mini-succinct news blog today. Since there is much interest in starting businesses, whether family business, online businesses. home and craft businesses or in general  small business, this news will help you review, identify, see education and finally mentor with professionals who can get your "show on the road". Please reference the link for the 5 steps. Needless to say I have been through this process of evaluation of business ideas and models since 1978. As a young mom, I was considering a small business vs pursuing a higher degree in education. I had many excellent and creative ideas that I shared with a few friends who were also on the same path. Our very young children were starting off to school and we had some time to decide how we would add or contribute finance to the household income. Most of my ideas and passions were researched at the local library and were "interest" driven, as with homeschooling and homeschooled children. I was involved in formal art education so crafts and art were the main activities in my home with three preschool children , where i shared my passions and my children followed the leads. There is so much more that is offered today to those wanting to start up businesses  through online courses and with sba and mentoring groups than was available in past years mainly due to the accessible technology. In fact, I am preparing for a second career now using webinars, phone conferencing and primary the internet tools to start sales of  relevant products and services. Its an interactive way to learn and add income in this adverse economy.  This is a great opportunity that many are taking advantage of for interactive learning and for training as companies become more virtual and impact larger groups with social media marketing and emails. . For example, I have started a website about my business for solar sustainable homes and now am in the process of seeing the launch of my first project this year , 2012. It's been a long process of research, establishing marketing perimeters and now funding my passion of solar clean energy. After taking the steps outlined in this "brainstorming" article independently and developing some contacts that share my passion for clean energy , i have combined skills from my real estate sales and marketing with my passions for clean energy and arrived at my small business , www.bittersweetfarmssolardesigns.com . The foundation has been laid and now i go to the next level but while taking on a second career that will fund my passions. This adverse economy has caused unexpected layoffs, unemployment, job loss and many other tragedies that have really damaged the finance of families, of small business and of large corporates. Rising healthcare costs have also damaged the success and profitability of small businesses everywhere. There is much more need to join forces now to have success, whether by using memberships with the chamber of commerce or other groups that foster more consumer awareness and protection based on the very competitive landscape for business. After all of the negatives though, owning your own business can be rewarding. It is "your identity" and "image" so you must invest everything to make it work. i know a few young ambitious women and leaders who have started their own companies while working other jobs. One young woman who designed websites for small business now sells her art and graphic designs online. She also designs murals and creatively manages other projects. There are those women who are making custom jewelry and market their products online and there are millions of others joining the virtual internet world everyday!! Really small business woman make a positive impact in our communities and in our world!  If there is an idea..this is a way to sell it..market it and make it profitable with the right associations and quality-minded standards. Todays business landscape is complex and the more "tools" you have..the more access to technology, the more professionals in your loop like with "linked-in", the better chance you will have to succeed. I encourage all of our readers who are considering business start ups to remember, financial preparation is probably the biggest consideration. Make sure you know all the details for your business plan and model. You may have to work another job to "fund" your passion or business and in this very adverse economy, it takes more than talent, creativity and desire! it takes patience and multi-level skills to reach the "profit" margin that allows your business to grow. Check the link for SCORE,  an agency that mentors small business and gives them tools to succeed. They have inspirational success stories where finding funding for small business is made a bit easier for women and minorities. As always i wish great success for those entreprenuers starting out as focused members of our community who contribute and make a difference! Membership at your local chamber of commerce is always a good idea and will connect you to events with other small business owners. Small business is the backbone of this country and when businesses help other businesses , well it doesnt get better than that!! indpendence and the american dream of small business go hand in hand.
