Hello readers and monster hunters,
Summer wouldn't be summer without some light "reads" for the cause of mystery, suspense and hunting monsters.. Truth be told, I have a wee bit of scottish in my blood...and god knows i love the "storytelling" aspect that Lock ness has provided for centuries.. Call it the "link" to the unknown or the missing link , but we the people. are all fascinated with the myth of nessie.. and nessie drives those tourists sales like no other monster!! i mean think of it..?, Nessie has been the star attraction of the Lochness since 565 AD...come on!! how many of us have that "starpower"!! The story of Nessie has survived through all of "mankind" since the birth of christ and forward!! Through all the wars and tribulations, through all the climate changes, through all the technology, through all our forms of transportation!! Nessie has traveled through time and still holds our imagination and it all started with an Irish Monk!! Funny thing about that..I had a dream about a monk.. and a movie theater..!! Just cant' figure that "dream out".. but i found myself reading about "nessie" minutes later.. mmmmm The power of dream analysis.. Someone must have a "chip" in my brain focused on ancient "mysteries".
anyway...let me get back to Nessie.. It is a profound headline story..beginning with the first monk who reportedly witnessed the "monster" swimming in the Loch Ness. Today's Link will cover the story of Edwards, a scottish man who has a passionate search of 26 years invested in the discovery of the Lochness monster! The picture he has today, the best one so far, doesn't reveal too much... Is the photo a fake? Is it a picture of the head or tail of fish? Is it a visable part of the monster with just a glimpse of a "head"?? Is it a manatee like creature as Edwards is submitting?? Is this the original Nessie monster or the many generations later of "offspring".?? Nothing can live that long, Edwards states.. Right!!, It is doubtful , that Nessie is the Nessie spotted by that Irish Monk, giving his sermon at the Lochness waters edge. There could be generations of Nessie's but my idea is how does a fish get that big in "fresh" water when there is limited supply of "food" in the "food chain".. Edward's has made the daily search his life and mission and literally lives on the Lochness for rare sightings of the "beast". This photo , for me raises more questions rather than giving an "answer" about the "monster" because when you look at this picture, nothing is defined!! is it a head, fin, body, tail of the monster. It is non-descript as you try to "figure" this monster out from a single picture that is still so mysterious. The part that surfaces and many over centuries swear it is the monster, just leaves so much to the imagination. If the monster is elusive..does it live in the deep and does it surface only to get air, like a whale or seal? apparently centuries have gone by, and even with the best tech that we have, we cannot get a close up of the monster..or have explaination for it! Is the monster one part science , 10 parts faith?? 1 million parts imagination?? It seems this is the case. Nessie is on the sonar but can't be picked up.. Boats have traveled up and down the pre-historic lake searching for the "creature" and some were lucky enough to have a citing of something? Like an "artifact" from the time of jesus and the history of his life, Nessie emerged from the dark waters of  Lochness to capture all the sailors "imagination" and developed a "cult" following. Man and the sea or man and the lake, seem to have "meshed and become one".. In scotland you are "weird" if you don't beleive in Nessie. She rules!! The idea of getting close to the beast and having  the most "conclusive" picture or evidence of the monster is still every child's dream as Edwards started out , a 13 year old boy introduced to Nessie by his father. I suppose this Legend will go on..another 2,000 years or more since it is still to date, a case where man, faith  and science combined  cannot find or trap the monster. That sounds like a creature that knows how to survive!! Nessie may have prehistoric links to a dinosaur, or like other specimens we have found to exist in deep waters of the sea , have lived without being documented or discovered until recently. It's possible Nessie is accomplished at the art of "vanishing" and disappearance" due to a highly developed "brain". Survival depends on that brain and instincts, you know? So.. where is Nessie hiding out today?? I bet many would give their last dollar to find out.. To Mr. Edwards, I say "good luck" old sailor.. Hope you find what you are looking for.. and i would love to know more about that Irish Monk.. who started this thing with the first "sighting" of  Nessie. . Was he the first monk, who invented "storytelling" to such a degree that men of faith and science must admit..there are some things just too deep to know. Nessie like UFO's just defy our tech and intelligence and maybe we need to "believe" because in the end.. faith is needed.
Nessie could be the next X-file.. and while live goes on.. whether searching the Lochness for Nessie or battling our own demons , man needs to discover and expose myths and monsters. Discovery is what man "does" best.  Today I give my salute to Mr. Edwards and all those passionate about "discovery" and keeping us all "enticed" and in "suspense". There are many Nessie's out there.. and all we need to do.. is be "focused" for the "evidence" will come to the surface. Detectives love these stories.. and im no exception to that rule. To my scottish brethren.. and Irish Monks.. "happy hunting".  This is detective sparks.. on my way to "discovery" in our court and judicial system. Some of the biggest monsters are in our own "government".. Maybe i should start hunting monsters of the deep. ??
