Hello readers and lovers of "classic" actors,
Today's link  and video, courtesy of huffington post,  brings us a bright star who has always taken on roles of controversial real -life characters with awesome success. It doesn't get any better than Al Pacino, for the "je ne sait crois".. there is just something about Al.. The talk of the town celeb is meeting with the official "circle" to discuss his opportutnity to play Joe Paterno in an upcoming biopic  film based on the book "joe paterno", written by Posnankski. Posnankski has a unique role in following coach paterno for two years before his death in january 2012 and sharing time with the legend who met with scandal in his last days. The 409 wins on record for coach paterno was downsized to 299 after 111 wins were vacated from the years 98 to 2011 based on his perceived participation in the cover up of Sandusky's criminal child abuse and sexual abuse to 10 children over 15 years. AL pacino is a perfect selection to play  Coach paterno's role having an alister experience and oscar-winning status with equally controversial roles such as Jack Kevorkian in hbo's movie for tv film, "you don't know jack". Also Al played the lead as a football coach in Oliver stones,  "any given sunday".  Al will be sure to bring the most to this role as Joe paterno , an electric figure in Penn State's rise to fame based on the football program. There is a divided sentiment, a strong emotional response to this coach who seemingly had the most honorable of intentions and built his empire on ethical reputation until the ugly "sandusky" cover up was exposed. Still there are fans of Joe paterno that will always be loyal fans standing by him even after his death. There are those players, who have nothing but praise and positive reports about their coach saying he was more than a coach but a man who influenced lives with positive messages and deep faith.  A coach that withered away, literally and figuratively in his last days while combatting the media and unravelling of his empire with the introduction of sandusky and his crimes. It was such a sad downfall for the coach. With the full spectrum of extreme emotions and feelings about the coach "joe paterno", there are some who knew him well and have more revealing stories to tell. I suspect that Posnanski's book will light up on the screem  with Al Pacino's creative talent going to the depths of coach paterno's heart and soul. the inner struggle of keeping the penn state program and invincibility alive in the face of the growing conspiracy, must have made the coach's spirit sink in those last months. I feel Joe took much of this story to the grave, in an effort to protect his family. God and joe , only know what happened and what was at stake! I would say a legendary celebrity like Al Pacino, will show this man and coach "joe paterno" as a man with self-seeking ambition but also with a "family man" appeal. Was it those words that i heard about joe's father, wanting Joe to go to law school and Joe's firm resolution to build a football team in apparent rebellion to his father that make me think there was something else. Something we the "public" did not know about joe and his blind ambitions. His  limitless energy and ambition to build a football team, that would be his passion and not his fathers wish that gives me reason to believe there is more to this story than meets the eye. Joe was driven to be the best and whether he was a pretentious force , a cover up agent and conspirator, remains to be proven. Did Joe get swept into the Sanduskly "current" based on media frenzy? Or was there something darker in the strained relationship between the two rivals. It was known that Joe did not like Sandusky and there were politics between them. This story must develop as the "men" who would occassionally bump into each other on campus offered very little interaction based on Joe's analysis of his relationship with Sandusky.  Al Pacino will have the exceptional artist  "tools" he needs to bring Joe's character forward and Joe will have a second chance in the "public" eye and perhaps a second chance at justice that was not served. I am one who believes that Joe had more to say.. but time ran out. Was he innocent until proven guilty? Was the media circus excessively  "trigger happy" preventing a fair concensus of Joe's role in the sandusky crimes. Could joe have known of these crimes for years but was he "blackmailed" into keeping silence as part of a dirty conspiracy?  Was Joe the classic hero or fallen tragic figure. ? We know that funds will "stop" pouring into the Penn state program now that there was scandal and crimes. Who will ever restore Penn State to the Paterno years of  record-breaking wins and celebration feasts, as the new coach faces an uncertain future that is  now transformed into a future of "famine" and "drought"caused by scandal and possibly a premature decision about Joe's guilt or innocence. We of course have feelings of empathy for Joe's family and hope the best for them as they continue in this "shadow" of "shame'. Perhaps the bio pic of Joe will bring some fact and evidence to the picture that is stained by "child abuse and sandusky". The catholic church is as much on trial as "joe paterno, the coach and father" in the minds of millions who adored or abhorred joe. In the court of public opinion, the jury may still be out on Joe's innocence or guilt. Joe cannot defend himself now but Sandusky is in jail , so that is some justice to Joe's memory.  Bring on Al Pacino! He is the best oscar-winning,  celeb to "deliver" poetic justice for the legend of Joe Paterno. Al , an expert in taking on controversial characters, will bring his constellation of talent to this role, playing the coach, Joe paterno.
This is detective sparks, igniting the flame for investigation!

Until tomorrow..remember mini-celebs,  life imitates art..art imitates life,  scandal imitates scandal..
child abuse and crimes against children can never be "dismissed" or "permitted" no matter what anyone's political status may be. Having faith is not enough. You must take action when there are crimes to minor children and report them. Protect the children.
